We recently had the pleasure of working with Monaghan Bros Bar Furniture, creating a suite of
images for them to use for both online and offline marketing activities. Monaghan Bros Bar furniture
are Ireland’s largest furniture manufacture for the hospitality sector and have been supplying bespoke
handcrafted furniture to hotels, bars, restaurants, night clubs, fast-food outlets and service stations all
over the world since 1987. Based in Mayo Abbey, Co. Mayo, they are an award winning, family run
business. The brief was to create images for their sales catalogue primarily, but the images also
needed to be suitable for uploading to their website and for large printed materials for trade shows. To
do this the images needed to be saved in various formats to suit each purpose.

Bespoke Hospitality

We were delighted to work on this project as our chief product photographer Sean actually has a
background in Furniture design, holding a Degree in Furniture Design from GMIT, Letterfrack. This
meant he had a very keen understanding of the design and production process, along with unique
insights into the presenting and showcasing of furniture design and manufacture finishes and
features.

We did this furniture photoshoot on location due to the size of the furniture involved. The range
covered in the product photoshoot included bar furniture and fitted furniture for hotels and restaurants.
We tailored the lighting set up specifically to suit the shoot as it was imperative that each piece of
furniture was photographed to highlight their individual design details and finishes. The bespoke
lighting set up, along with professional calibration of colour to show fabric and material finishes helped
keep the images consistent and professional which is especially important when creating a sales
catalogue. We were also careful to consider the customers perspective and make sure the creative
angles we used showed the products to their best advantage. The finished product shots were very
clean and contemporary and the client was very happy with the result
